Graham Phillips has won internet notoriety for his guerrilla field reports from eastern Ukraine for Kremlin TV. On May 9, during Victory Day celebrations in the drab industrial seaside town of Mariupol, dozens of armed militants barricaded themselves inside a police station and exchanged fire with government forces. During the fighting, the building burned down.
T hese are trying times for Odessa. After the annexation of Crimea, pro-Russian forces are stirring tension in this Black Sea port, and there are weekly standoffs between demonstrators who want to be part of Ukraine and those who want closer ties to Russia. But for all the political and economic chaos that has engulfed Ukraine in the past three months, one industry is still thriving: the internet romance trade.

Ukrainian citizen Yulia Suslyak says that she planned to hold a press conference in Tbilisi to speak about the details of her detention in Georgia. Ukrainian citizen Yulia Suslyak, who was charged with trafficking in Georgia in April and was released on July 19, was not allowed to enter Georgia yesterday. The Georgian Interior Ministry says that Suslyak failed to present mandatory documentation - travel insurance, refused to provide a reason for crossing the border and had insufficient money for her travels. Over the last year the Holodomor has garnered much needed additional publicity, in part due to the current situation in Ukraine but in the West discussion of it is still often met howith the look of confused faces and a great deal of general ignorance persists. It tales the tale of Yuri, a native of Smila whose initial passion for being more a lover than than a fighter conflicts with his cossack heritage, but his would be love relationship with Natalka, a child sweetheart as well as relationships with the rest of his family are torn asunder by the events that unfurl around them. Smila may have been a village then but it has since grown into a small city which alongside Uman and Cherkassy itself is one of the major population centers of what is now the Cherkassy Oblast.
Despite the fact that almost half of all Jewish victims of the Nazi Holocaust were killed on the territory of the Soviet Union, their Jewish identity was for decades effaced by Soviet policy.
